Range Day Outreach Program

Supporting people in pursuit of their hunting heritage, Amanda Lynn founded the Range Day designed to help new shooters get out there and get started in their adventures. Participation in activities outdoors provides you with the opportunity to expand your horizons and learn valuable life lessons that will serve them well beyond their chapter in life.

We want you to be able to have fun and enjoy the outdoors with your peers, but at the same time lay a solid foundation of skills and knowledge which you may build on for the rest of your life.

The ultimate goal for this program is to provide an opportunity for YOU to have an education on firearms and archery in a non-intimidating and safe environment.

We want to help you to succeed. We believe the morals and values you will develop from participating in the outdoors will carry forth throughout all other aspects of your life, while keeping our hunting heritage alive.

Range Day allows you to try your hand at Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle and Archery, no license required.

How it all Began

Women of the Outdoors - RANGE DAY is a program that was designed by Amanda Lynn in 2011 after noticing the changes in an increase of women wanting to get out and get started and not having a mentor or place to be able to try firearms. This event  has a limit of 30 girls so that one-on-one mentoring is more personalized.
These events fill up quickly so keep your eye on a certain future date if you want to participate. The event is a first come, first serve basis and has a history of selling out in 24 hours. No licensing is needed.

The Day

Every Range Day begins at 8am at the specified location to register, mingle and sort out the groups. At this time you can chat with Amanda Lynn about firearms and/or hunting. Videos, and photos are displayed from past events and even a clip from an episode of Just Hunt.

The girls break up into groups of 6, listen to the safety introduction seminar and off they go. Spending about 45 minutes at each station learning how to load, unload, and use the firearm with proper safety measures and posture. Eye protection is provided for the girls to use and recycle, if you have your own you are welcome to bring it. Please bring your own ear protection if you have it.

End of the Day

The day wraps up between noon and 1pm with a lunch that is provided for the girls. An updated conversation on how the day went and some great prizes are handed out. Watch for our event photos on the website and social media, you never know if your face will be the next poster.
